Terms & Conditions
These terms keep expectations clear on both sides. They apply to bookings made with Mountain Tours & Travels through this website, by email, by WhatsApp or in person. [Have these reviewed against current company policy and Nepali law before launch.]
1. Inquiries and bookings
Sending an inquiry costs nothing and commits you to nothing. A booking exists when you confirm a written quote and we acknowledge it. Every quote lists inclusions, exclusions, dates and prices; the written version is the one that counts.
2. Prices and payment
Prices are quoted in US dollars or Nepali rupees as stated on the quote. Published prices on this website are indicative starting points and can change with season, group size and availability; your written quote fixes the price. Payment schedules are stated on the quote. Typically a deposit confirms services with limited availability such as flights and helicopter seats, with the balance due before or at the start of services. We accept bank transfer and common local payment methods; details accompany the quote.
3. Changes by you
Date and itinerary changes before travel are accommodated where availability allows, at any difference in cost. Name corrections on flight tickets follow airline rules and fees.
4. Cancellations
Cancellation terms are stated on each quote, because they differ by service: hotel and vehicle bookings are usually flexible near the date, while flight tickets and helicopter seats follow the operator’s fare rules. Where we can recover amounts from suppliers, we pass the recovery back to you.
5. Weather and safety
Mountain flights, helicopter tours, Lukla services and high altitude journeys operate subject to weather and the judgment of pilots, drivers and guides. When weather cancels a service, you choose rebooking on the next availability or a refund of that service as stated on the quote. Decisions made for safety are final and are made for you, not against you.
6. Travel insurance
Insurance is not included in our prices. For helicopter tours, treks and any itinerary above 3,000 meters, travel insurance covering those activities is a condition of booking. You are responsible for choosing and purchasing a policy that fits your trip.
7. Travel documents and health
Passports, visas and any required health documentation are your responsibility. Tell us about medical conditions relevant to altitude or remote travel; the information is used only to plan safely.
8. Our responsibility
We arrange services with established operators, hotels and crews, and we intervene actively when things go sideways. We are not liable for events beyond reasonable control, including weather, natural events, strikes and schedule changes imposed by authorities or carriers. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Complaints
Tell us during the trip, not after it, and we will fix what can be fixed on the spot. Anything unresolved goes to written follow up and we answer within seven days.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and disputes fall to the courts of Kathmandu.
